Why did I do this? I had been riding my mountain bike and hiking in the area for many years, and had seen parts of the wreckage. Then the land owner (MROSD) announced that they were going to implement a policy of not allowing anyone to venture off the trails, limiting access to much of the wreckage. I thought I would try to find and photograph as much of the wreckage as I could before it became illegal. This is what I came up with. Most are unrecognizable pieces of metal. The only large piece I know of is the wing.

Ok, it is not a photo, but here is a copy of the Civil Aeronautics Board's Accident Invesitgaction report of the accident from 1954. It is PDF format and about 500k in size.
